A & J Boots was born from personal experience and a gap in the market for affordable leg wraps to fit our own Shetland ponies. We started on our kitchen table in Burnley, Lancashire with me, Alice and my mum Jill, both having experience in sewing. Jill was working making caravan awnings for a company and I had not long left university where I got my Degree in Contemporary Surface Design and Textiles. We launched in August and by November I had quit my job and was sewing full time for A & J Boots.
Initially only making boots, we branched out to matching Tail Guards and then Ear warmers too. We naturally picked up pace and grew into what we are today with over 10+ Products, offering personalisation and custom made options.
We are now based on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, we have been handmaking quality equestrian products for horse owners who want reliable, well-made products they can trust. Every item is carefully crafted in our workshop using quality materials and attention to detail, ensuring each product is as durable as it is functional.
What started as a simple idea—to create an easy-to-use alternative to traditional bandages—has grown into a trusted range of boots, rugs and accessories used by horse owners across the UK and beyond. We have sold to several countries including Australia, France, Ireland & Germany.
